Rocksteady Studios is looking to add to its family of staff. We are looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Cinematic Animator who is ready for the challenge of producing our next unannounced AAA title.


Key Responsibilities

  • To create and develop industry-leading cinematic scenes that support the narrative of the game.
  • To set up and develop cinematic scenes and animations from previs to final quality in the game engine (Unreal).
  • To work very closely with the Cinematic Lead to ensure scene content and direction is consistent and reaches the desired quality goals.
  • To work very closely with all neighbouring departments, specifically Script and Design to ensure the work being output is relevant and current at all times.
  • To support the motion capture process from rehearsals to final performance.
  • Be a solid example for non-Seniors to follow suit.


Technical Requirements

  • Excellent MotionBuilder knowledge and experience.
  • Extensive Motion Capture experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of editing software (Premiere/After Effects) beneficial.
  • Excellent understanding of the Unreal game engine or similar is advantageous.
  • A great understanding of a cinematic pipeline, in a game environment.
  • Not necessary, but desirably experience in 3DS Max and/or Maya user.

Skill Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of visual story telling skills.
  • Excellent animation skills.
  • Great understanding of cinematography.
  • Great understanding of staging, scene design and camera layout.
  • Great key frame and motion editing skills.
  • Great understanding of the cinematic pipeline including scene layouts, motion capture, animation, camera work and editing.
  • Strong ability to self-manage time and bring cinematics in on time and to the desired quality level.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong pro-active problem-solving skills and to demonstrate a great level of independence.
  • Strong teamwork skills: willingness to give and receive feedback, and the ability to embrace change; ability to collaborate productively with others.
  • Motion capture acting ability beneficial, but not necessary.
